Processing and Lead Times

For standard orders, we generally ship laser cut parts within 2-4 business days of receiving your cut-ready files. Additional post-process operations such as bending, tapping and powder coating will increase turnaround time.

Our cut-off time for processing new orders is 12 noon, Pacific time, Monday-Friday. (Orders with complex geometry or multiple bends may require additional processing time.) Orders received after 12:01 PM will be started the following business day.

If you see “TBD” on the tracking page for your order, your files are being reviewed and prepped for the laser. An estimated shipping date will be generated in the Tracker once your order is scheduled. Learn more about our shipping process and policies.

How our process works:

Although we cut and process parts 7 days a week, we review orders Monday – Friday to coincide with our shipping carriers.

  1. Your estimated ship date is calculated in real-time in your shopping cart as you add parts and services
  2. Your estimated ship date is confirmed when you check out
  3. Your order is received and verified
  4. Our Application Engineers review your drawings
  5. Your drawings are programmed and scheduled
  6. Your parts are cut!
  7. We inspect your order for quality and accuracy
  8. Your parts are post processed, if required
  9. Second quality check
  10. Your parts are packaged for shipment
  11. Final quality check
  12. The shipping label is created and you receive an email with a tracking number
  13. Your order is shipped via our carrier on one of 3 daily pickups

How do I get my parts as fast as possible?

  • Order before 12pm PST, Monday-Friday
  • Provide drawings that meet our guidelines
  • DXFs from SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Fusion360 will be processed slightly faster than EPS and Adobe Illustrator files
(If you are using AI, please only send us AI files. Illustrator DXF exports do not produce reliable cutting paths.)

Lead time constraints and considerations:

  • Orders received after noon PST will be processed the next business day.
  • Orders with notes, special requests, etc. will have additional processing time.
  • Our goal is to get you parts fast and treat every job as a rush order which means production speeds cannot be adjusted.
Please note, expedited shipping only affects transit time after production.
  • Files that are not cut-ready will take longer to resolve as we will contact you for updated artwork.
  • Post-processing operations such as deburring, bending, countersinking, tapping, and powder coating will take extra time, and may not be canceled once the order is in production.

Additional factors that may affect your order processing time:

Powder coating, Anodizing, and Plating – Adds 7-10 days of processing time to your order.

Quantity – Quantities of 100 or more parts may add 2-4 days of processing time to your order.

Weight – Some orders over 80 lbs. will need an additional 1-2 business days for packaging and crating.

Size – Parts larger than 46” in any axis may need 1-2 or more additional days of processing time.

Bending – Adding bending to your order can add 1-3 days of processing time. Most bent parts will ship ground as they will exceed 2″ in height when packed.

Material – Although we stock hundreds of thousands of pounds of material, occasionally we may have a smaller-than-needed amount for your project. If your order requires more than 40 square feet of material, we may ask for an additional 2-5 business days for processing.

Design – We will contact you to request revisions for orders that require file adjustments, proofs, or files do not meet our Design Guidelines. This will delay the order processing, as production cannot begin until we have received the cut-ready files.

Finishing – Ceramic Tumbling adds 2-3 days of processing time.

Example Process Times:

  • If you order on Monday at 10am, your order is scheduled to ship on or before Wednesday
  • If you order on Thursday at 9pm, your order is scheduled to ship on or before the following Tuesday
