# Monitor lives

> Let CutPro watch the streamers you pick and generate clips from their live streams automatically, in real time

Instead of sitting around waiting for someone to go live, let CutPro do it for you. Pick the streamers you want to follow and, the second they go live, CutPro starts **recording, transcribing and generating clips on its own** — while the stream is still running.

## How it works

  <Step title="Pick who you want to follow">
    Open the [Live monitor](https://cut.pro/studio/live-clipper) and search for the streamer by username. It works with **YouTube, Twitch and Kick**.

  <Step title="Set the strategy and template">
    Just like regular clipping, you choose the **strategy** (what the AI should look for) and, optionally, a **template** so clips come out with captions and your branding. You can also tweak the **notification preferences** to get alerted when the streamer goes live.

  <Step title="Turn on monitoring">
    Click **Activate**. From then on CutPro keeps checking whether the streamer is live — you can close the tab and go do something else.

  <Step title="The live starts, the clips appear">
    When the broadcast goes on air, CutPro records in real time, transcribes the audio and generates clips in **\~10-minute batches**. Cuts show up on screen while the live is still going, sorted by potential — ready to edit, download or publish.

  CutPro tracks **multiple lives at once** — different streamers, or even a single channel running more than one simultaneous broadcast. There's no "one at a time" limit.

## Pricing no other platform offers

Here's CutPro's big difference: **monitoring is free and you only pay when clips are generated.** Nobody charges you for "keeping an eye out" waiting for the live to start.

And there's more — **the more people are clipping the same live streamer, the cheaper it gets for everyone.** The stream cost (recording and transcription) is split across everyone clipping that live. A live packed with clippers? It's **free** for all of them.

  * You pay **per batch** of clips generated during the live (every \~10 minutes), **not per clip** — it doesn't matter if a batch produced 1 or 8 cuts.
  * **Monitoring costs nothing.** Credits are only spent while the live is on air and CutPro generates cuts within your filters.
  * The cost per batch **drops as more people clip the same streamer**. That's the "hype": the hotter the live, the cheaper it gets.

  Before activating, CutPro checks that you have enough credits for the next batch. If you're short, it tells you right away instead of leaving monitoring "on" while clipping nothing.

## It works on the app too

All of this is in the **CutPro app**, exactly like the web. From your phone you can:

* Add and remove streamers to monitor
* See who's live right now and activate/pause monitoring
* Get a **notification** when a streamer you follow goes live
* View, edit, export and publish the live's clips — all from the palm of your hand

  Turn on app notifications so you never miss a live. You find out the moment the streamer goes on air, even when you're away from the computer.

## Good to know

* The **live monitor is part of specific plans.** If your plan doesn't include live clips yet, CutPro shows the upgrade option. See the [available plans](/docs/en/billing/plans).
* When you **pause** a monitor there's a minimum **10-minute** window before you can pause again — this avoids constant on/off toggling and keeps the batch counting consistent.
* Clips generated from a live are saved and can be edited and published at any time, even after the broadcast ends.
