Klap dropped per-clip pricing for per-minute pricing, the same model OpusClip uses. With the same yardstick, the comparison finally makes sense: per hour of footage, the two are nearly tied. The real difference is now what each one does after the cut.

Klap switched from charging per clip to charging per minute of uploaded video, the same model OpusClip uses. On September 26, 2026, Klap Basic cost US$ 29 a month for 300 minutes (or US$ 14 on annual billing), and OpusClip Pro cost US$ 29 for 300 credits (or US$ 14.50 on annual). With the same yardstick, price per hour is essentially tied. The choice now comes down to what each tool does after the cut.

What changed at Klap
Until mid-year, Klap sold bundles of clips per month: 100 on Basic, 300 on Pro, 1,000 on Pro+. On the pricing page as rendered in a browser on September 26, the headline read "Unlimited AI clipping, only pay for the minutes you upload", and the plans became:

A detail that shows how fresh the change was: static parts of the same page still listed "100 clips/mo" next to the annual price. If you subscribe, confirm the unit at checkout.
For creators, the change is good news. Per-clip billing punished good videos (more moments, more clips, more spend) and rewarded weak ones. Per minute, the cost depends only on how much footage you bring.
OpusClip's plans
From OpusClip's pricing page, same day:
- Free: 60 credits a month (1 credit = 1 minute), up to 1080p, watermarked, no editing, and clips stop being exportable after 3 days.
- Starter: US$ 15 a month, monthly only, 150 credits, no watermark, editor, filler and silence removal, auto-posting to Shorts, TikTok and Reels.
- Pro: US$ 29 monthly or US$ 174 a year (US$ 14.50 a month), 300 credits, unused credits roll over for 2 months, 2 team seats, 6 social accounts, AI B-roll, export to Premiere and DaVinci, dubbing and limited API access.

What does one hour of footage cost?
The number that matters if you clip podcasts or long streams. Plan price divided by the hours it covers:

Three takeaways:
- Same price band, a tie. Klap Basic and OpusClip Pro both cost US$ 29 monthly and cover 5 hours. On annual billing the gap is ten cents an hour.
- Klap scales better. If you need 15 or 45 hours a month, Klap has a plan on the shelf. At OpusClip, above Pro you buy credit packs or talk to sales about Business.
- OpusClip is cheaper to start. US$ 15 for Starter is the lowest entry of the two, at the cost of only 2.5 hours a month.
Where OpusClip wins
- A real free plan. 60 minutes every month. Klap lets you create 1 video for free.
- Video sources. Pro accepts 10+ input sources, and OpusClip's livestream tool takes Twitch and YouTube links. Klap, per its own page, works with YouTube links and uploads.
- Post-cut editing. AI B-roll, dubbing, and export to Premiere and DaVinci on Pro. If you finish in a pro editor, that matters.
- Automation. An official Claude connector since September 11, 2026, plus MCP and API on Pro and Business.
Where Klap wins
- Volume. 900- and 2,700-minute plans on the shelf, with a per-hour price that drops as you go up.
- Unlimited social accounts on every plan, against 6 on OpusClip Pro. For agencies, that changes the math.
- Languages. Klap says it edits and transcribes in 52 languages. OpusClip advertises animated captions in 20+.
- Scene-aware reframing. AI Reframe 2 picks a layout per scene (split screen, screencast, gameplay), useful for screen-share footage.

- Your footage has screen shares or gameplay with shifting layouts: try Klap first.
Where Cut.Pro fits
If your streams are on Twitch, Kick or YouTube and you want clips during the broadcast, Cut.Pro clips live in 10-minute batches, and its Plus plan is R$69.90 a month for 1,000 credits (each credit is one minute of analyzed video).
