October in gaming: BGS, the CBLOL final, VALORANT Champions and Worlds on the clip calendar
Between October 6 and 23, Gears of War: E-Day, the VALORANT Champions playoffs, Brasil Game Show, the CBLOL final, the start of Worlds and Modern Warfare 4 land one after another. It is the densest month of the year for gaming clips, and whoever plans the week before it starts publishes on event night, not the next day.

October in gaming: BGS, the CBLOL final, VALORANT Champions and Worlds on the clip calendar
The fact: between October 6 and 23, 2026, these land back to back: the launch of Gears of War: E-Day (Oct 6), the VALORANT Champions playoffs (Oct 7 to 18), Brasil Game Show (Oct 9 to 12), the CBLOL final (Oct 10), the start of Worlds (Oct 15) and Modern Warfare 4 (campaign early access Oct 16, launch Oct 23).
It is the busiest month of the year for anyone who clips games. It is also the month when the most people will publish the right clip on the wrong day. This post is the calendar, with what to clip on each date and what to leave alone. Two of the events are Brazilian (BGS is Latin America's biggest games fair, and CBLOL is Brazil's League of Legends league), which matters if you clip Portuguese-speaking streamers or want that audience.
The calendar, with checked dates
| Date | Event | Where | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Oct 6 | Gears of War: E-Day launch (premium editions from Oct 1) | Xbox, PC | Xbox Wire |
| Oct 7 to 18 | VALORANT Champions playoffs (final Oct 18) | Shanghai, China | THESPIKE |
| Oct 9 to 12 | Brasil Game Show 2026 | Distrito Anhembi, São Paulo | LaranjaCast |
| Oct 10 | CBLOL Split 2 final | Arena Carioca 1, Rio de Janeiro | Mais Esports |
| Oct 15 to Nov 14 | League of Legends Worlds 2026 | Los Angeles, Allen (Texas), New York | Wikipedia |
| Oct 16 and Oct 23 | Modern Warfare 4: campaign early access and launch | Consoles and PC | Xbox |
And for anyone planning past October: the Worlds final is on November 14 at Barclays Center, and GTA VI ships on November 19, the date Take-Two repeated in its August 7 quarterly results.
First: what you cannot clip
Worth repeating, because October is when the most people will try.
An official tournament broadcast belongs to the rights holder. Reuse outside official agreements depends on each competition's terms. The practical rule that works for CBLOL, Worlds and VALORANT is the one we laid out in Riot and Kick's official co-streaming deal: clip the reaction of a streamer or co-streamer who gave you written permission, not the match in full screen.
Game launches follow similar logic: the material is the streamer's live playthrough, and that stream belongs to the streamer. Permission first, clip second.
Week 1 (Oct 5 to 11): Gears, VALORANT, BGS and the CBLOL final
The heaviest week, and it comes down to one decision: pick one main front. Whoever tries to cover all four publishes a little of each.
Gears of War: E-Day (Oct 6). A campaign game with set-piece moments is classic reaction material. Each big streamer's first hour usually holds the most clippable moment, because everything is new. The launch-day hunting method is further down.
VALORANT Champions (Oct 7 to 18). The group stage ended on October 4. The Americas sent 100 Thieves, LOUD, NRG and G2, per Wikipedia. If you clip English-language co-streams, the Americas teams carry the audience. If you clip Brazilian ones, everything rides on LOUD: if they are still alive, Portuguese-speaking viewers will be hunting co-stream reactions every night; if they are out, that interest drops and your effort is better spent on CBLOL.
Brasil Game Show (Oct 9 to 12). It is an in-person fair, which changes the material. A BGS clip is not a match, it is people: a streamer meeting fans, a reaction to an on-stage announcement, someone's event vlog. LaranjaCast reports 306,798 visitors over four days in 2025. Many Brazilian creators will stream from the floor. Agree terms in advance with the ones you already clip: event vlogs have a very short half-life.
CBLOL final (Oct 10). For the first time, both the champion and the runner-up go to Worlds. That gives the final a guaranteed second chapter, because the audience that watched Rio will look for the same teams in Los Angeles five days later. What to clip in a League match is in the CBLOL clip archive: objective steals, comebacks, costly mistakes, caster arguments and short explanations.
The rule of the week: a final gets published the same night. A final clip at 11pm and the same clip at 11am the next day do not share a fate.
Week 2 (Oct 12 to 18): a Brazilian holiday, Worlds and the VALORANT final
October 12 is a national holiday in Brazil and Children's Day there, plus the last day of BGS. Holidays bring a younger audience and more screen time. One caution: any clip that shows children needs extra care, especially from family channels.
Worlds starts Oct 15. The Los Angeles play-in is the lowest-audience phase, which makes it the place to test formats without pressure. Interest grows as teams advance. An allocation that tends to work:
- play-in and early rounds: one or two clips a day, only with teams your audience follows or a known rivalry;
- knockouts: heavy coverage, published the same night;
- final on Nov 14: everything.
Modern Warfare 4 opens its campaign on Oct 16. Pre-order players get the campaign a week before launch. Streamers who have it early produce the most contested material of the week, because nobody else has seen it yet.
VALORANT Champions final on Oct 18, a Sunday. Shanghai is 12 hours ahead of New York in October and 11 ahead of São Paulo, so matches tend to land overnight or in the morning across the Americas. That changes when you publish: check the official start time, and remember the co-stream ends early and the clip that goes out before lunch catches people waking up.
Week 3 (Oct 19 to 25): Modern Warfare 4 launch week
A big shooter launch is the event where the most streamers play the same game at the same time. Good news (lots of material) and bad news (everyone clipping the same thing).
What sets you apart that week is choosing the streamer, not the moment. The first jump scare, the first stupid death and the first campaign reaction will exist in fifty streams. What does not exist in fifty streams is how that particular streamer reacts. Clip people, not the game, the same approach as in turning gameplay into vertical clips.
Week 4 (Oct 26 to 31): horror and warming up for November
Halloween falls on Saturday, October 31. Horror is the genre where the scare does the work for you, and the method is in horror game clips.
It is also the week to prepare November: Worlds heading into knockouts and GTA VI less than a month away. Whoever arrives on November 19 with a warmed-up account and a tested method beats whoever starts that day. The launch context is in making money clipping GTA VI.
How to split the month
If you clip alone, the question is not "what is happening" but "where can I be first with quality". An honest split:
- One main front per week. CBLOL or VALORANT in the first, Worlds in the second, MW4 in the third, horror in the fourth.
- One opportunistic front. Something you cover only if a strong moment appears (BGS if a streamer you clip is there, VALORANT if your team advances).
- No full coverage of everything. Three mediocre clips of four events do worse than ten good clips of one.
Where a tool saves the week
October's bottleneck is not editing. It is finding the moment inside five-hour streams, several a day, and publishing the same night.
On Cut.Pro you paste a VOD link or point it at a Twitch, Kick or YouTube channel and get clips in 10-minute batches while the stream is still live, on any plan. Each clip comes with vertical reframing that follows the face, captions and a potential score out of 10, so you review a short list instead of scrubbing a timeline. The judgment on what is good stays with you.
The short version
- Oct 6 Gears of War: E-Day · Oct 7 to 18 VALORANT Champions playoffs · Oct 9 to 12 BGS · Oct 10 CBLOL final · Oct 15 Worlds starts · Oct 16 and 23 Modern Warfare 4.
- November is already set: Worlds final on Nov 14 and GTA VI on Nov 19.
- Clip the reaction of whoever gave you permission, never the official broadcast in full screen.
- Finals and launches get published the same night.
- One main front per week beats shallow coverage of everything.
The calendar is public for everyone. The edge goes to whoever starts the week already knowing what they will clip.
