Creating and joining a clipping championship

Joining is free: you publish on your own accounts and climb the leaderboard on real metrics. Creating one means funding the prize up front.

Updated July 26, 2026

A clipping championship is a competition where participants publish videos on their own accounts and climb a leaderboard calculated from those videos' real metrics. The organizer is a creator or a brand; CutPro provides the infrastructure and holds the prize money.

Joining

It's free. No entry fee and no paid-plan requirement.

The path:

  1. Find the championship in the studio's championships tab or on the public page.
  2. Join — you can sign up even before it starts, if it's scheduled.
  3. Set your username, if you don't have one yet. That's what identifies you on the leaderboard.
  4. Accept the rules and the policies. There are several mandatory acceptances; without them the sign-up doesn't complete.
  5. If the prize is paid via PIX, register your PIX key right at sign-up.

There are no invite codes: a listed championship is an open championship.

Who can take part

You have to be 18 or older (or have a guardian's authorization), and you can't be the organizer of that championship. CutPro employees and partners, and their immediate family, are also out.

Connecting your accounts

To compete with videos on TikTok, Instagram or Pinterest, you have to connect the account. From then on your videos are detected automatically — you don't have to submit anything by hand.

Two pieces of good news: connecting an account for a championship is allowed on any plan, including Free, and the authorization requested is read-only for posts and metrics — a championship never gets permission to post for you.

For YouTube and Kwai there's no connection: you submit the video by pasting the link.

Creating a championship

Any user can create one, but every championship goes through CutPro review before it's activated.

What you define:

  • Name, description and image.
  • Period — start and end.
  • Accepted platforms among TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest and Kwai.
  • Required hashtags and mentions — this is what ties a video to your championship. Use them: they're what makes automatic detection work.
  • How the leaderboard is calculated — by raw views or by a score weighing views, likes, comments, shares and saves.
  • How the prize is distributed — see prizes and submissions.
  • Your tax details (a valid CPF or CNPJ).

The prize is deposited up front

This is the central rule: the prize is funded in advance, in CutPro credits or in cash via PIX. The system never distributes more than what was deposited.

The distribution has to add up exactly to the funded amount — the form won't let you close with a surplus or a shortfall.

Paying in credits, they're debited immediately. Paying by PIX, there's a deadline to complete the payment before the championship is activated. For the service fee charged on the PIX option, check the amount shown on the creation screen before you confirm.

The rules are generated and locked

CutPro assembles the rulebook automatically from your settings, and it's immutable after creation. Review the rules carefully before confirming — you can't change the terms with the championship running.

Moderation

Every submitted video comes in as pending and has to be approved by you (or by a manager you add) before it counts on the leaderboard. You're also the one who disqualifies an irregular video. There's an automatic audit that flags suspicious metrics, but it points things to human review — it doesn't disqualify on its own.

After you join

What happens to submitted videos, how the prize is calculated and when the money lands is in prizes and submissions.
