Format guidelines for each network
What each network accepts in length and text, what CutPro blocks and what it only warns about — because the one that really rejects things is the platform.
Updated July 26, 2026Every network has its limits, and CutPro treats two groups differently: what it blocks before sending, and what it only warns about, leaving the call to you.
Text and length limits
| Network | Text | Video length |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok | up to 2,200 characters | up to 10 min (your account may have a lower ceiling) |
| up to 2,200 characters | up to 15 min | |
| X | up to 280 characters | up to 2min20 |
| up to 3,000 characters | up to 10 min | |
| Bluesky | up to 300 characters | up to 1 min |
The text limit blocks: go over it and CutPro won't send. The length limit, on most networks, is only a warning — it lets you publish, but tells you the platform may reject it.
The exception is TikTok, which reports your account's real ceiling and is checked before sending.
What CutPro doesn't validate
Be realistic about this when you design your workflow:
- Aspect ratio (9:16, 1:1, 16:9) isn't checked. The network is what accepts or rejects it. Since CutPro delivers vertical by default this is rarely a problem — but if you changed the framing, check first.
- File size isn't checked at publish time.
- There's no minimum length. A 3-second clip gets sent; if the network refuses it, that's the network refusing.
Network by network, in practice
TikTok. The thing that raises the most questions is privacy: while CutPro's app is under review by the platform, posts go out as "Only me". Beyond that, comments, duets and stitch may be locked if you yourself disabled them in your TikTok account settings — in which case the option shows as blocked here too.
If the video is promotional, use the commercial content disclosure controls. Marking "branded content" together with "Only me" privacy isn't allowed by the platform itself.
Instagram. Requires a Professional account. It supports collaborators (up to 3, and each has to accept the invite) and lets you rename the Reel's audio — but you can't add music from Instagram's catalog via API. If you want a track from their library, you have to publish manually.
X. It's the only network that costs 1 credit per post. Video and images don't mix in the same post.
Bluesky. The 1-minute limit is short and blocks a lot of podcast cuts — worth planning the clip with that in mind. It requires a confirmed email on the account to accept video.
LinkedIn. Long text is the differentiator: 3,000 characters give room for context, which tends to work better there than a short TikTok-style caption.
Images
When a post carries images instead of (or alongside) video, each network has its own cap — and CutPro warns you when the extras will be dropped. YouTube doesn't accept image-only posts, and that one is blocked.
What actually affects results
Two things that aren't technical limits but do sink reach:
- Identical text across many accounts. The networks detect it and react — Instagram goes as far as stripping the caption. That's why CutPro turns on automatic text variation above ten accounts.
- Volume on a new account. A freshly created account taking ten posts a day tends to get limited. CutPro's automatic publishing respects a warm-up period and a ceiling of 10 posts per day per account — don't work around it.
